ACHIEVEMENTS
The Foundation’s activities have led to the following achievements among many others.
1. The Foundation helped and continues to help the physically challenged young men to Accra Rehabilitation Centre to learn various trades in dress making; shoe making and craft (weaving).Four had graduated and are doing well in their own small way. The rest are in their third and final year.
2. The Foundation on three occasions assisted visually impaired person in kind and cash to attend remedial classes and rewrote the Senior High Secondary School Examination (SSSE) remedial.
3. The Foundation took an old lady who was constantly sick to hospital for HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing after some efforts to help her recover failed. She was tested positive and as a result, she suffered rejection from her family. The Foundation took her care upon itself.
4. Following the unfortunate situation of the old lady which occurred after the death of her husband and in addition to few recorded deaths caused by the disease; the Foundation is educating the people of Obom-Konkon, Kofikwei and Hobor area, all farming communities in Ga West District and Ga South respectively.
5. The Foundation is noted for bringing to the attention of the appropriate authorities what is going wrong with the people of the community. Some examples of these are: writing to Ghana Aids Commission (GAS) to notify them about the HIV/AIDS Pandemic in the area; soliciting the assistance of PENTECOST STUDENTS and ASSOCIATES (PENSA)- University of Ghana Legon branch to sensitize the people while they donated to the old lady.
Also, it reported the menace to PPAG and UNAIDS. They however redirected us back to Ghana Aids Commission after giving us materials for education.
6. The Foundation has been running sensitization programs for churches and distributes materials in the form of posters and brochures all in the spirit to educate and guard against the disease. Included in the program, is the campaign against child abuse and domestic violence.
7. The Foundation has been assisting people in financial difficulties. Some are currently into petty trading and are doing well.
8. The Foundation is in the business of organizing talk for the Junior High School students about the importance of education and the opportunities that can be derived from it in the villages. The impact is beginning to show as many had got admission into Senior High School over the past three years. We give out books to serious ones to motivate them.
9. The Foundation has also been fighting for the cause of the vulnerable teenage girls who are defiled or raped. An instance was the missing of a teenage girl on the 24th of December 2006. A search by some youth organized by the foundation led to the discovery and arrest of the culprit with the girl. He was subsequently handed over to the police.
10. The Foundation has form a Child Right Club in two Junior High Schools namely Obom D/A Junior High School and R/C Junior High School. Children are taught their right according to the constitution of Ghana. The children also undertake fun activities.
11. The Foundation is sponsoring five pupils in basic schools and intent to increase the number when its fortunes improve.
12. The Executive Director of the Foundation has been commended by the Ga West District Secretariat of The National Youth Council. While a certificate of Recommendation was issued to him by the same Council.
